Fructose crystalline
is a sugar made from corn that has a low glycemic index and therefore
doesnt cause the dramatic rise in blood sugar that table sugar
(sucrose) does. Using fructose also helps you decrease caloric intake,
since it is twice as sweet as table sugar, but has the same caloric
density. Unlike aspartame, fructose can be used in baking and cooking.
1 teaspoon
contains:
Four grams of pure crystalline fructose supplying 16 calories of carbohydrate
energy.
Fructose is twice
as sweet as sucrose (table sugar), therefore only half as much is needed.
