In addition to ensuring the purity and potency its products, Life Extension also takes steps to verify that the product itself is actually producing the desired effect. This efficacy-based quality-control program is done by analyzing blood test results that members submit to The Foundation, by listening to customer feedback, reviewing individual re-order rates, and conducting surveys of those who purchase a particular product. This type of follow-up quality control is not done by any commercial supplement company.

Glucotrim was introduced by Life Extension in August 2000. The efficacy of this natural extract is based on animal and human studies. The active ingredient in Glucotrim is called corosolic acid. Early research showed that when used as part of your diet, corosolic acid is able to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels.*1

Two months after Life Extension released the product, they sent out a questionnaire in order to assess how consumers were actually satisfied with Glucotrim.

The objective in conducting this survey was to help ascertain whether the product was working in the real world environment as opposed to controlled clinical studies that may not always represent typical lifestyle patterns.

Unfortunately, only a third of the respondents were satisfied with Glucotrim. These surveys, which attempt to measure a specific biologic parameter, are part of an on-going quality-control program to ensure that Foundation members are deriving anticipated benefits from recommended supplements.

Dosage and Use
