L-Ornithine
L-ornithine is a growth hormone releasing amino acid. The following
doses of L-Ornithine are recommended for healthy male adults: For healthy female
non-pregnant, non-lactating adults: Start with about
25% of your target quantity and increase it gradually over a period
of a few days to minimize the occurrence of minor side effects such
as nausea. When taking growth hormone releasing amino acids such as
L-ornithine, it is recommended to take one to three grams choline and
one to two grams pantothenic acid, vitamin B5. Cautions:
- Persons who have
not completed their long bone growth (children and teenagers) should
NOT use growth hormone or growth hormone releasers except under a physician's
supervision. (This also applies to pregnant or lactating Women.) - L-Arginine and
L-ornithine sometimes reactivate latent herpes virus infections, so
persons who have ever had ocular or brain herpes must not use either
of these as GH releasers. - Certain psychotics may experience worsened symptoms if they take arginine or ornithine supplements.
