A vegetarian
dietary supplement to support detoxification functions.
Chelation
Factors:
Helps maintain
optimal detoxification functions and supports the removal of heavy metals
from the body.
Provides potent
heavy metal chelators.
Targets heavy metals
such as mercury, arsenic, aluminum and lead.
Contains powerful
antioxidants to support detoxification and neutralize free radicals.
Is a non invasive,
safe and can be used long term for heavy metal exposure.
Formula:
DMSA (2,3 dimercapto
succinaic acid) has been used in the United States since the 1970's
for its chelating abilities. It is a well researched, water-suluble
chelation agent that contains sulfur. DMSA has been used primarily for
a chelator of lead and mercury, but has also been shown to be effective
against cadmium and arsenic.
Chlorella is a
single-celled algae that has a fibrous outer shell that can bind to
heavy metals. The heavy metals can then be pulled from the bloodstream
and eliminated from the body.
Sodium alginate
is soluble fiber derived from algae, It has ability to bind tightly
to heavy metals and form a gel in the gut which may prevent the absorption
of some heavy metals.
N-acetyl cysteine
(NAC) has been demonstrated to an effective chelating agent for various
tissues, such as the liver. NAC is also a very important building block
for glutathione, which is essential for the formation of enzymes needed
for detoxification.
Garlic has high
sulfur content which has been shown to aid the body in chelating heavy
metals and detoxification.
Cilantro is an
herb that is commonly referred to as Chinese parsley. Cilantro is also
chelator that helps remove heavy metals, in particular, mercury and
lead, from the body.
Alpha Lipoic Acid
is not only a powerful antioxidant, but also a heavy metal chelator.
It is both fat and water soluble, which means it can cross cell membranes
with ease. It can even cross the blood brain barrier.
Vitamins C and E are powerful antioxidants that may help reduce the
potential harmful effects of many heavy metals, such as free radicals
that may be generated.
Zinc is an important
mineral and is a component of the antioxidant enzyme Super Oxide Dismutase
(SOD). It has been shown to enhance the effectiveness of several chelating
compounds.
Selenium and L-Methionine
are vital for the antioxidant enzyme glutathione. Glutathione is a powerful
antioxidant which is essential for detoxification of heavy metals. High
levels of heavy metals produce free radicals that overload the detoxifications
process and deplete glutathione levels. It is important during a chelation
program to maximize the body's building blocks of glutathione.
