Milkweed is a diuretic, emetic, and purgative.

From Herbal Descriptions by Truman Berst: #3480 MILKWEED ROOT (Pias syriaca) May be used for kidneys, dropsy, water retention, asthma, stomach ailments, and gallstones. It has been used by some American Indians for warts (using the juice externally), and also for producing temporary sterility. CAUTION: Poisonous in large quantities, especially for children.

Methodology
Use 6-12 drops in juice, water, under the tongue, or as desired. May be taken 3 times daily. Shake well. Store in cool, dark place. Keep out of reach of children. WARNING: Poisonous in large quantities, especially for children.
